An educational farm tour with a lot of fun!Looking for educational field trip ideas? Hilger’s Friendly Market is a great place for fun, educational field trips to give children a real “on the farm” experience. Our field trips meet Indiana state academic standards for field trips, and are handicapped accessible. Farm tour field trips at Hilger’s are fun and educational for pre-kindergarten students all the way to 4th grade.
Tours include a hayride to the pumpkin fields (where each child gets to choose a pie pumpkin to take home), a demonstrational educational talk presented in storybook form, a trip to our “hands-on” area, where children can do easy experiments to learn more about agriculture and the farm, and an opportunity to play in Hilger's Fall Fantasy Land. Children also get a snack and receive an activity book that includes a coupon for free admission on their next visit to Hilger’s Fall Fantasy Land! Each classroom receives a packet of pumpkin seeds and a large pumpkin for a classroom Jack-O-Lantern. A picnic area is available for groups who want to eat lunch.
